Description

This is one of many projects carried out for the Army over the years. The project involved the upgrading and conversion of The Citadel, Castle Street, Aberdeen. This is one of Aberdeen’s best known buildings facing west towards Union Street. The buildings are Grade B listed. As part of the development, the Army sold off the wings, including the tower block which have all been converted to residential units for another of our clients. The conversion for the Army involved forming a new entrance to the facility taking level access off Castle Street, infilling a void at the ground floor which previously formed part of a sporting facility and splitting the main worship hall into two floors at the former balcony level. New lifts give access to all four levels of the building which were fully refurbished internally and externally to form multi-use spaces including a café at ground floor level, meeting rooms of varying sizes which are all for hire at basement and first floor levels with a new Worship Hall created to the upper most level.
